(Dallas, TX) -- Trey Lance has a new home.
The former number three overall pick was traded by the San Francisco 49ers to the Dallas Cowboys on Friday in exchange for a fourth-round pick. Lance suffered through injuries after the 49ers traded multiple first round picks to move up to get him in the 2021 NFL draft, never able to fully cement himself as the team's quarterback of the future.
He was beaten out for the backup job by Sam Darnold earlier this week, effectively signaling an end to his time in San Francisco.
