(Williamsport, PA) -- California claimed the 2023 Little League Baseball World Series title in dramatic fashion.
Louis Lappe hit a walk-off home run to lift the El Segundo Little League team over Curacao 6-5 in the world championship game. Lappe hit his fifth home run of the tournament in the bottom of the sixth inning, which was also the first homer Curacao had allowed in Williamsport.
The championship for El Segundo is the eighth time that a California team has won it all. It also marks the fifth straight tournament that a U.S. team has won.
