(Eagan, MN) -- The Vikings got off to a head start in whittling their roster down to 53 players yesterday.
The team waived 15 total players, including quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, cornerback Kalon Barnes, and North Dakota wide receiver Garrett Maag. Minnesota has to have its roster down to 53 by 3:00PM today.
In other team news, Albert Breer is reporting that the Purple hope to get Justin Jefferson a new contract extension before their Week One game against Tampa Bay.
