(Denver, CO) -- The Twins closed out the 2023 regular season with a 3-2 loss to the Rockies in 11 innings at Coors Field.
The Twins led by a run in the bottom of the eighth, but Jorge Alcala gave up a game-tying home run that forced extra innings. Since the team wanted a well-rested bullpen for the playoffs, outfielder Jordan Luplow pitched in the bottom of the 11th and gave up the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Minnesota finished the season as the AL Central champions with an 87-75 record.
The Twins host the Blue Jays in a best-of-three AL Wild Card Series that starts tomorrow.
