Wild fall short at Devils

(Newark, NJ) -- The Wild surrendered three goals in the second period of their 4-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center.

Minnesota took a 2-1 lead when Ryan Hartman lit the lamp early in the second period, but Tyler Toffoli, Erik Haula, and Jesper Bratt all scored to give the Devils the lead. Jake Middleton answered back with a goal late in the third, but the Wild weren't able to put the equalizer in the back of the net. Pat Maroon also scored for Minnesota.

The Wild are on a three-game losing streak. Minnesota is tied for fourth-place in the Central Division with eight points and a 3-4-2 record. The Wild host the Devils on Thursday.
