Wolves fall short at Knicks

(New York, NY) -- The Timberwolves weren't able to rally back from a 22-point deficit during a 112-106 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Minnesota was outscored 38-17 in an embarrassing second quarter, but the Wolves got within four in the final frame before New York put the game away. Anthony Edwards poured in 35 points in the losing effort, while Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 29. Minnesota is in first place in the Western Conference at 24-8.

Minnesota hosts New Orleans on Wednesday night.
