(Brooklyn, NY) -- The Timberwolves thwarted a comeback attempt from the Brooklyn Nets during a 96-94 win at Barclays Center.

The Wolves led by 17 points in the third quarter, but the Nets stormed back to tie the game with just over a minute left in regulation. However, Karl-Anthony Towns connected with Rudy Gobert on an alley-oop to give Minnesota the lead for good. The Wolves got back-to-back stops on defense to tie the game. Towns poured in 27 points and grabbed ten boards, while Anthony Edwards chipped in with 24 points. Minnesota has won six of eight.

The Wolves are in first place in the Western Conference at 32-13. They visit the Spurs on Saturday night.
