(Chicago, IL) -- Jesper Wallstedt earned his first NHL win as the Minnesota Wild blanked the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 at United Center.

Wallstedt stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the victory, and his offense helped him out with three goals in the second period. Kirill Kaprizov scored twice, while Marco Rossi and Freddy Gaudreau also lit the lamp. Additionally, Kaprizov passed the 40-goal plateau for the third consecutive season. Kaprizov is joined by Eric Staal and Marian Gaborik as the only players to score 40 goals in a single season in franchise history and the only player to do so multiple times.

The Wild are still on the brink of being eliminated from playoff contention as they sit nine points out of the final Wild Card spots with five games left. They're in sixth place in the Central Division with 83 points and a 37-31-9 record.  Minnesota will visit Colorado on Tuesday night.
