Connor McDavid and the Oilers are heading to the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Edmonton edged the Kings 4-3 at home in Game Five to earn a 4-1 series win. The Oilers will face the winner of the Canucks-Predators series in Round Two of the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the defending Stanley Cup champions are on the verge of elimination out West. The Stars dispatched the Golden Knights 3-2 from Dallas to take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven series. Game Six takes place in Vegas on Friday.
The spotlight shines on Toronto for the lone playoff game on Thursday. The Leafs will try to force a Game Seven in their Eastern Conference series against the Bruins with a win at Scotiabank Arena.
