Wolves drop Western Conference Finals Game One to Mavericks

(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have an uphill battle in the Western Conference Finals.

The Wolves dropped Game One of the best-of-seven series 108-105 against Dallas at the Target Center last night. The Wolves led by four with 3 1/2 minutes remaining, but Dallas went on an 8-0 run to take control. Jaden McDaniels had 24 points in the losing effort, while Anthony Edwards finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Luca Doncic led Dallas with 33 points and Kyrie Irving chipped in 30 points.

Minnesota trails 1-0 in the series. Game Two is in Minneapolis on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. with game coverage available on TNT.

In other team news, Edwards was named to the All-NBA Second Team yesterday. Additionally, Rudy Gobert was named to the NBA's All-Defensive First Team while Jaden McDaniels was honored on the Second Team.
