Explosive second inning powers Twins past Royals

The Minnesota Twins rode a six run second inning to defeat the Kansas City Royals 8-3 on Monday night.

Pablo Lopez gave up three runs (two earned) in six innings with five strikeouts, en route to earning the win. The bullpen tossed three shutout innings for Minnesota.

Willi Castro hit a three-run homer while Royce Lewis hit a two-run home run in the game. Matt Wallner, Manuel Margot, and Austin Martin all drove in a single run apiece.

The Twins and Royals will continue their series on Tuesday night with first pitch slated for 6:40 p.m.
