Minnesota Vikings 14-year veteran Safety, Harrison Smith, has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week for Week 17.
Smith helped power a Vikings defense that forced six turnovers in Minnesota’s 23-10 Christmas Day win over division rival Detroit. He racked up three tackles (two tackles for loss), three pass break ups, an interception, and a sack.
He is the fourth Viking to earn a weekly honor in the 2025 season. Smith joins QB J.J. McCarthy in Week 1 (Offensive), CB Isaiah Rodgers in Week 3 (Defensive), and DL Levi Drake Rodriguez in Week 9 (Special Teams).
Smith now has 39 interceptions and 21.5 sacks over his NFL career. The Vikings will wrap up the 2025 campaign on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Green Bay Packers with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. and game coverage available on CBS.
