NDSU WBB bested by Columbia in WBIT Second Round

On Sunday, March 22 the North Dakota State women’s basketball team fell to Columbia 86-57 in the second round of the WBIT.

Columbia had a fast start leading 30-13 after the first quarter then outscored the Bison 26-9 in the second quarter. The Lions led 56-22 at the half on 71 percent shooting from the field. NDSU outscored Columbia 35-30 in the second half, but the 34-point halftime deficit was too much to overcome.

Avery Koenen paced the Bison with 21 points and seven rebounds. Karrington Asp added 11 points. Marisa Frost chipped in eight points, four rebounds, and two steals. Molly Lenz finished with five points, two rebounds, and two steals.

The Lions had three 20-plus point scorers led by 26 points from Mia Broom. Perri Page added 23 points for Columbia followed by 21 points from Riley Weiss.

The Bison ended the 2025-26 season with a 29-5 record.
