North Dakota State University baseball junior right-handed pitcher, Zak Szabo has been named the Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 2-8.
In two relief appearances last week he tallied a 0.00 ERA (earned run average) along with striking out a team-high seven batters. Szoba held opposing hitter to a .227 batting average throughout the two outings. He tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings in NDSU’s 5-2 win on Sunday at nationally ranked Vanderbilt.
He is the second Bison to earn the honor this season, joining Parker Puetz, who earned the league’s Pitcher of the Week honor on February 17.
NDSU will visit the University of Nebraska in Lincoln on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
