Solo homers power Twins past Royals

Multiple solo home runs help power the Minnesota Twins past the Kansas City Royals 5-1 on Thursday.

Matt Wallner, Kody Clemens, and Josh Bell each hit a solo home run in the win. Byron Buxton also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Taj Bradley tossed six scoreless innings en route to earning his first victory of the season. Kody Funderburk threw a shutout inning out of the bullpen. Cole Sands gave up one run while recording one out followed by Taylor Rogers picking up an out. Justin Topa slammed the door shut with a scoreless ninth inning.

Minnesota improved to 2-4 on the season. The Twins will now welcome the Tampa Bay Rays to Target Field for the 2026 home opener on Friday afternoon with first pitch at 3:10 p.m. and game coverage available at Twins.TV. Bailey Ober is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota.
