The Minnesota Twins gave up 14 unanswered runs in a 15-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night.
Bailey Ober gave up five runs over five innings, eventually being tagged with the loss. Andrew Morris gave up one run over 2/3 of an inning. Kody Funerburk gave up one run over an inning while Justin Topa struggled, surrendering six runs while only recording two outs. Luis Garcia gave up two additional runs over 2/3 of an inning.
Matt Wallner hit his fourth home run of the season while driving in both of Minnesota’s runs.
The Twins fell to 16-21 on the season. The series rubber match is scheduled for Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 12:05 p.m. and game coverage available on Twins.TV. Simeon Woods Richardson will be on the mound for Minnesota while Jake Irvin counters for Washington.
