Twins offense heats up in win over Mariners

The Minnesota Twins jumped the Seattle Mariners early in an 11-4 victory on Monday night.

Connor Prielipp struck out five batters over five innings while giving up two runs en route to earning his first big league win. Andrew Morris earned the hold after tossing three innings out of the bullpen, giving up two additional runs. Taylor Rogers closed the door by throwing a scoreless ninth inning.

Kody Clemens hit a three-run homer, his third of the season. Clemens drove in five total runs in the game. Byron Buxton added a two-run homer, his sixth of the season. Ryan Jeffers chipped in two RBI while Trevor Larnach and Luke Keaschall added an RBI apiece.

Minnesota’s five game losing streak was snapped as the franchise improved to a record of 13-16 on the season.

The Twins and Mariners will continue their series on Tuesday evening with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and game coverage available on Twins.TV. Joe Ryan will be on the mound for Minnesota while Logan Gilbert counters for Seattle.
