Wallstedt named NHL’s November Rookie of the Month

On Tuesday, December 2, Minnesota Wild rookie goaltender, Jesper Wallstedt, was named the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Rookie of the Month for November the league office announced.

Wallstedt was between the pipes in six games for Minnesota in November, posting a perfect 6-0-0 record. Additionally, he recorded three shutouts while posting a league-best 1.14 goals against average (GAA) along with a .967 save percentage.

Throughout his six starts in November, Wallstedt saved 202 of 207 shots he faced while also recording at least 25 saves in each game. In three of those games he saved at least 35 shots.

So far this season, Wallstedt is 7-0-2 in nine starts. He also he a league-leading .938 save percentage and 1.93 GAA, good for second in the league.

The Wild will return to the ice on Tuesday, December 2 in Edmonton against the Oilers with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. and game coverage available on FanDuel Sports Network North.
