Biden Administration forgives additional $1.2 billion in student loan debt

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Biden is forgiving more student debt.

This time around, it’s $1.2 billion-dollars in relief for public sector workers like teachers, nurses and firefighters. Borrowers can qualify through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, created almost two decades ago and now expanded by the Biden administration.

Republicans are leading legal challenges to the administration’s earlier debt forgiveness efforts.
