Burgum: Americans ‘know what it’s like under dictatorship’

(ATLANTA, GA) – North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, amidst being named one of the top candidates for Donald Trump’s running mate, says that Americans ‘know what it’s like under dictatorship. And that dictatorship right now is Joe Biden.’

“We’ve got three branches of government,” he told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Sunday’s State of The Union. “And this President, more like any other, has bypassed Congress.”

Burgum pointed to the rules and mandates from Biden’s administration.

“None of them have come from Congress. And all of them could literally kill the industries that we have in our state, including baseload electricity, which we need to be competitive in the arms race around AI with China, who’s building baseload electricity plants, like two a month,” he said. “So that’s happening without Congress.”

Burgum avoided answering questions as to what he would bring to a Trump administration. Instead, he is “doing what I think that everybody that cares about the future of this country should be doing, which is understanding that if you care about inflation, which is, which is hurting income, producing low income people the most, because it’s affecting food, the price of energy, the price of electricity, the American dream is being killed by high interest rates, housing costs have gone up by over 30%. If you care about that, that stuff, then you should be out campaigning for President Trump.”

Trump has said he will announce who his running mate is at the Republican National Convention, slated for July 15-18 in Milwaukee, WI.
