(FARGO) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber has announced its 2024 Legacy Leader and has set the date for the Chamber’s annual celebration event.
Legacy Leader
The 2024 Legacy Leader award recipient is former Concordia College President Paul Dovre.
Dovre began his educational career by graduating from Concordia College in 1958. He returned to the university in 1963, when he became an assistant professor of speech and the director of forensics. Later, in 1970, he became academic dean.
In 1975, Dovre was named the president of Concordia College, a position in which he served for 24 years, until retiring in 1999.
In his tenure at Concordia College, President Dovre became a highly respected spokesperson and advocate for higher education.
“Dovre’s impact leaves a lasting legacy in the university and community he served with passion,” says Chamber President & CEO Shannon Full. “His leadership and commitment to civic engagement have shaped countless organizations, initiatives and lives. Dovre’s influence will be felt for generations, as his vision and dedication continue to inspire and guide the growth and well-being of our region. The Chamber is proud to name Paul J. Dovre as the 2024 Legacy Leader.”
Celebration Event
Dovre will be honored as a part of The Chamber’s Annual Celebration.
The celebration will take place October 10 from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Delta by Marriott in Fargo.
The event will also serve as a reflection, celebration, and time to be inspired as The Chamber heads into the next year with energy, focus and collaboration.
