Chief, Captain discuss new details following murder at The Arbors

(FARGO) – WDAY Radio has learned new information regarding the circumstances surrounding the hours following a homicide earlier this week and leading to the eventual arrest of the person of interests

In a Thursday morning press conference, police leadership provided ‘significant updates’ in the death of 24-year-old Zion Brooks.

Captain Bill Ahlfeldt, who leads the department’s Criminal Investigations Division, said three search warrants were executed Tuesday. Two were in Fargo, and one in Moorhead. The warrants yielded multiple weapons found, including one which was stolen. Another, Ahlfeldt said, was “illegally modified.”  Another weapon matches the caliber of the weapon used in the crime.

Chief David Zibolski praised residents in The Arbors.

“We have a lot of cooperation in the Arbors itself,” he said.

ZIbolski said the motive is “still part of the active investigation.”
