Construction underway on former NDSU Engineering Administration building

FARGO  – Construction and renovations are underway on the former Engineering Administration building at NDSU. The building will be replaced by Offerdahl Hall and the Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex.  Funding for the project includes a historic $25 million gift from Richard and Linda Offerdahl, $59 million from the legislature, and gifts from Doosan Bobcat, Mortenson, Marvin, and numerous other benefactors.

The Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex will feature more than 100,000 square feet of new construction along with significant renovations to modernize and enhance current buildings. The more than $100 million project is set to open in Fall of 2026.

University officials say the building is designed to be the premier engineering educational facility in the upper Midwest with state-of-the-art multi-purpose learning and research spaces that emphasize teamwork.
