Death reported in Beltrami County in domestic disturbance call

(TEN LAKE TOWNSHIP, MINN) – One person is dead following a domestic violence call in rural Beltrami County.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office said the county’s emergency communications center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a domestic disturbance outside of a residence in Ten Lake Township at 4:36 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies and Leech Lake Police responded to the call. Upon arrival, the domestic disturbance continued with one subject determined to be unresponsive and not breathing. Leech Lake Ambulance was dispatched to the scene while lifesaving efforts continued. The subject was transported to Cass Lake Indian Health Services, where they were pronounced deceased.

A second subject, who was involved, was placed under arrest and is in custody at the Beltrami County Correctional Facility awaiting formal charges.

The identities are not being released, and law enforcement says there is not a threat to the public.
