TEL AVIV, IL — Israeli leaders are confirming the death of Hamas’ leader.
Yahya Sinwar was declared the Palestinian militant group’s new leader in August. Israeli officials said at least three militants were killed during operations in Gaza and waiting on DNA testing to confirm Sinwar’s possible death. Sinwar is accused of being the mastermind behind Hamas’ October 7th attack on Israel last year.
National Security spokesman John Kirby said the U.S. has not independently confirmed the possibility that Sinwar may have been killed.
