(BISMARCK) – North Dakota’s Health and Human Services agency has unveiled the agency’s first-ever business plan. The plan comes following the unification of the state’s Department of Health and Department of Human Services nearly two years ago.
The plan highlights the agency’s 74 projects that support the agency’s vision of North Dakota being the healthiest state in the nation.
“This Business Plan displays the hard-working, citizen-focused efforts of the largest agency at the State of North Dakota,” said Gov. Doug Burgum. “These important supports and services for North Dakotans most in need advance our state’s mission to empower people, improve lives, and inspire success.”
HHS has over 2,800 full-time team members who serve North Dakotans at 59 locations across the state. HHS services enhance citizens’ well-being and quality of life by providing more than 150 programs and services that support economic, behavioral and physical health.
“Our teams have been empowered and commissioned to make positive changes as we understand our success as an agency is not determined by the number of our programs but is measured by our ability to respond to the needs of those we have been entrusted to serve in the moments that matter,” said HHS Commissioner Wayne Salter. “It also serves as an accountability tool, ensuring we remain steadfast in our commitment to our guiding principles and achieving our desired outcomes.
