SIOUX FALLS, SD — Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is scheduled to speak at a news conference today on the campaign to stop a measure meant to eliminate grocery taxes.
If passed in November, IM28 would repeal what’s known as the “grocery tax,” or the tax on anything sold for human consumption, including non-alcoholic beverages.
Mayor TenHaken opposes IM28 as he believes it would create a huge gap in the budget and lead to the creation of a state income tax.
