(Sioux Falls, SD) — There are over 300 job openings for teachers statewide.
That’s almost 100 more than last year according to the Associated School Board of South Dakota. KELO-TV reported in addition to teachers, there are openings for librarians, paraprofessionals and support staff. The teacher shortage impacts both rural and urban communities.
Most schools in the state start classes for the new year in less than a month.
