(Minneapolis, MN) — Ben Johnson is out of a job. The Gophers fired their men’s basketball coach early Thursday morning. The firing came hours after Minnesota’s Big Ten tournament opening round 72-64 loss to Northwestern.
Johnson spent four years leading the program, but Minnesota missed out on the NCAA Tournament each season. He finished his tenure with a record of 57-71 leading the maroon and gold. Athletic director Mark Coyle is beginning a nation-wide search for Johnson’s successor immediately.
