UPDATED: Fargo Police investigate homicide

11:15 p.m.  UPDATE: (FARGO, ND) – Fargo Police have released new details regarding a deadly shooting that happened in the 2200 block of 6th Ave. S just after 8:00  p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the face. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased. The FPD will release the name of the victim in approximately 24 hours, pending notification of the next-of-kin.

After thoroughly investigating the scene and speaking with witnesses, Fargo Police officers believe the involved parties were known to each other. The investigation is ongoing, with The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division working diligently to uncover more details about the circumstances surrounding this incident.

ORIGINAL STORY: (FARGO, ND) – Fargo Police are investigating a shooting earlier this evening.

According to spokeswoman Katie Ettish, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of 6th Ave. S. at approximately 8 p.m.

As of 10:12 p.m., officers were on-scene and are actively investigating the incident.

The public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
