WalletHub: Minnesota ranked near bottom nationally on racial equality in education

UNITED STATES – North Dakota is 23rd and Minnesota is 48th in WalletHub’s best states for racial equality in education rankings.

The website compared all states across metrics comparing the difference between black and white Americans including high school and college degrees, test scores and graduation rates.

Minnesota came in last for the gap in share of adults with at least a high school degree.

The Minnesota Educator Academy has a program for facing inequities and racism in education. The Education Minnesota website says it aims “to disrupt systemic racism and racial inequities in Minnesota’s education system.”

Flag Family News reached out to the Minnesota Department of Education and Governor Tim Walz’s office for a response to the rankings, but we haven’t heard back.
