The lack of snow continues across the area. I like to call it the "snow donut" The lack of snow will continue across the valley and across much of the state. If like to snowmobile, ski, or do any outdoor winter sports, the best place to go with fresh powder would be the UP of Michigan. Up to 2 feet of fresh powder is expected over the next week with lake effect snow kicking in. Any snow in the valley will be minor with a few clipper systems possible. How long will this arctic air last? It looks cold through mid month and beyond. Now the core of the arctic air will relax a bit later next week but it we will see reinforcing shots of arctic air for the next few weeks. I still don't see any big storms for our area. Mid month it looks like a central plains storm but more than likely will stay to our south. I'm sure we will have a few more storms roll through the valley before the winter season is done. Late Feb into March looks like it may turn a bit "stormier" with more frequent snows. Who's ready for spring?? Bundle up this weekend with wind chills approaching -45 below can cause frostbite in less than 10 min. Be safe!!
