Some flurries and or pockets of light freezing drizzle are possible this morning with the wind increasing into the afternoon between 20-40 mph and gusting higher at times creating areas of blowing and or drifting snow. Peak wind looks to hit through the afternoon to early evening. Snow and freezing rain spread into the far southern valley and portions of lakes country this afternoon into tonight where winter storm warnings are in effect (Sargent to Wadena county), amounts may range from 2-9 in those locations, Blizzard warnings are in effect for South Dakota and portions of western Minnesota as well. Although Snow is not expected in Fargo or points northward, a couple of inches may be possible. Things remain a little breezy on Saturday but sunshine will return before a slight chance for a snow shower or pocket of wintry mix on Sunday. Another potentially big winter storm system looks to track in our area Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week.
