Clean-up week begins Monday in the F-M Metro

(WDAY Radio) -- Cities across the FM Metro are getting ready for the beginning of cleanup week.

City officials encourage participants to follow the following guidelines.

• Separate items into distinct piles. Multiple trucks will collect the separated items to ensure they are being disposed of properly.
• Besides oversized items, officials encourage you to place the items in disposable containers if possible.
• Place the items out no more than one day before your scheduled pickup day. Crews will not return to pickup garbage set out too late. 
• Do not place food or other waste inside appliances. Crews also urge residents to remove refrigerator and freezer doors.
• No commercial waste will be accepted. The items must be from residences.
