UND to research enhanced oil recovery

(Washington, DC)  --  The University of North Dakota will receive over eleven-million-dollars to research enhanced oil recovery.

Senator John Hoeven announced the funding yesterday for UND's Energy & Environmental Research Center.

The research will focus on the viability of injecting CO2 into unconventional oil reservoirs for enhanced oil recovery and the permanent storage of CO2.

The funds will help assess the feasibility for permanent storage of CO2 in unconventional shale oil and gas reservoirs.
