U of M discloses $5M in investments tied to Israel and defense spending

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Officials at the University of Minnesota say they have invested five million dollars to companies based in Israel or defense contractors based in the United States.

The disclosure was part of an agreement that led to the end of a pro-Palestinian encampment on the Minneapolis campus.

The investments are in the form of stocks and bonds.

University leaders say other investments are protected by non-disclosure agreements or other legal constraints.
