(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Twins fell short in their comeback attempt during an 8-7 loss to the Seattle Mariners at Target Field.

The Twins trailed by five heading into the bottom of the sixth, but they scored four runs in the inning to make it a one-run game. Unfortunately, they wouldn't score again. Matt Wallner had two home runs in the losing effort, while Edouard Julien and Christian Vazquez also went deep. Joe Ryan was charged with his seventh loss after surrendering four runs in three-and-two-thirds innings.

The Twins have a two-game lead in the AL Central at 54-50. They begin a series in Kansas City tomorrow night.
