FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo woman faces two felony charges after allegedly making threats against several people and businesses in the Fargo area, including a local church.

Amber Joy Lingle was arrested Friday, April 24, and charged with terrorizing an adult victim and fleeing a peace officer in a vehicle.

True North Church confirmed in a statement posted to Facebook that it was among the alleged targets of the threats. The church said Fargo Police kept leadership informed throughout the situation and acted quickly.

“We are grateful for the swift and professional response of the Fargo Police Department, who kept us informed throughout the situation and acted quickly to ensure the safety of our community,” the church said in its statement.

The church also clarified that Lingle had no formal ties to the organization.

“Amber Lingle has never been employed by True North Church and has not served as a volunteer in any capacity. She had only recently attended services,” the statement read.

Lingle appeared in Cass County court Monday for an arraignment hearing.

A no-contact order has been filed in the case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29, 2026, and a felony dispositional conference is set for July 15, 2026.

At this time, Valley News Live has not obtained the incident report following her arrest.

True North Church said the safety of its congregation remains a top priority and expressed hope for Lingle’s well-being.

“We also want to express our sincere hope that Amber receives the help and care she needs moving forward,” the church said.
