SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota legislature wrapped up its work before the Sunday deadline.
Lawmakers passed bills to fight fraud in state programs, invest in local infrastructure projects, and provide police protection to politicians who face credible threats.
The tax bill that passed gives $400 million in relief $125 million in property tax cuts and $250 million in vehicle tab fee reductions.
A bill passed by the Senate banning assault weapons and large capacity magazines and giving $19 million in school safety aid program funding wasn’t taken up in the tied House despite a DFL sit-in.
