UPDATE: Police believe THC candy was given out at Moorhead middle school

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Several students at Horizon Middle School’s east campus became ill Monday after eating candy allegedly shared by a classmate, according to Moorhead Public Schools.

About 10 students reported feeling nauseous after consuming the candy. Two were taken to a hospital for further evaluation. The remaining students were released to their parents or guardians.

School staff immediately contacted Emergency Medical Services, and first responders arrived on campus to assess the affected students.

The Moorhead Police Department is investigating the source and nature of the unknown substance. The school district says no further details about the students will be released because minors are involved.
