City looks to potentially talk with NDSU, Fargo-Moorhead Baseball on future of Newman Outdoor Field

FARGO, N.D.. – Fargo city leaders are poised to begin discussions with NDSU and Fargo-Moorhead Baseball, Inc., regarding the future of Fargo’s Newman Outdoor Field.

The field, which is home to both the NDSU and Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks baseball teams, is owned by the City of Fargo.

“Looking to the future, the City of Fargo, together with NDSU, would like to explore conversations about the future of Newman Outdoor Field and the operational model for the facility,” a memo from City Administrator Michael Redlinger said.

The facility is nearing its 30th anniversary on NDSU’s campus, and Redlinger said ‘a long-range operational discussion is warranted,’ saying that will ‘serve the future interests of the parties.’

The commission will be updated periodically on the discussions.
