Senator John Hoeven spoke with John Remus, Chief of Missouri River Water Management Division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to outline concerns about high Missouri River levels in North Dakota. Remus indicated that the Corps does not anticipate the water level rising higher.
“The water levels along the Missouri River remain high in North Dakota,” said Hoeven. “I spoke with John Remus to ensure the Corps is taking the proper steps to prevent flooding now and ensure the Corps is prepared as we head into the fall and winter months.”
Hoeven’s call with Remus is part of the senator’s efforts over the spring and summer months to ensure that the Corps prevents flooding in North Dakota. In addition to Remus, Hoeven has met with and repeatedly spoken with Colonel John Hudson, Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District, to relay concerns about the river level and ensure the Corps prevents flooding along the Missouri River in North Dakota.
