(Walsh County, ND) — Authorities have identified the 61-year-old Hoople man who died following a rollover crash Saturday evening in Walsh County.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 61-year-old Mario Diaz was eastbound on Walsh County Road 19 coming from Ardoch, and heading to Drayton, with a load of coal. The driver did not negotiate the curve south, went off into the ditch and rolled.
The driver suffered fatal injuries from the crash.
The Highway Patrol was assisted by Oslo Fire, Minto Ambulance, the Walsh County Sheriff’s Office and Valley Ambulance and Rescue Service.
The crash is under investigation.
