September 25th Update: Body found in Wahpeton identified as missing Wahpeton man

The family of a Wahpeton man is looking for answers tonight, as 49-year-old Keith Pfeifer has been missing since Sunday.

In an exclusive interview with WZFG News Tuesday night, Pfeifer's sister, Susan McCullough, says the last known contact anyone has had with Pfeifer was Sunday, during the Minnesota Vikings football game. McCullough says her brother was texting a friend, and sometime following that contact, he suddenly vanished.

On Tuesday morning, at around 9 a.m., McCullough says she got a call from her brother's employer, who stated he hadn't shown up to work on Monday or Tuesday, which, she says, is not like him. She says not showing up for work is 'totally out of character' for him, saying he would show up for work, or call in. The Wahpeton Police Department subsequently conducted a welfare check at his home, which was empty. McCullough says his hunting gear, fishing rod and licenses, along with his pickup, are all at his residence.

She says Pfeifer has close contact and relationships with his neighbors and friends, and none of them have seen -- or heard -- from him since his disappearance on Sunday.

Because the river is close to Pfeifer's residence, McCullough says police have combed it several times -- finding no trace of him. There is a trail along the river, which has no indication that Pfeifer had been on that, either.

McCullough says the family 'is in shock' and wants to know what happened to their family member. She has a simple message for Pfeifer--"We're here to help you." She also says that the family would appreciate anyone who may know or have seen something, contact the local authorities.

Pfeifer can be dependent on his inhaler, and the family is unsure if his disappearance has anything to do with some sort of medical emergency -- yet they still remain hopeful that he is found, safe.

There is no timeline that has been able to be established in the disappearance of Pfeifer.

Wahpeton Police Sergeant Matthew Anderson confirms to WZFG News that an investigation is underway in the case.
