WFHS Senior named National Merit Scholarship semifinalist

Ryan Orth, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named one of approximately 16,000 finalists for the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship.

The academically talented high school seniors have the opportunity to continue in the competition for more than seven thousand National Merit Scholarships, worth more than 31 million dollars.

To be considered for the award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
