Man leads Grand Forks Police on pursuit

On Tuesday, at approximately 11:31 p.m., Grand Forks Police officers were dispatched to the area of 308 2nd Avenue North for a report of a hit and run crash.  The striking vehicle was described as black Chevrolet four door pick up with blue headlights.  The suspect vehicle was then located in the area of Library Lane and Library Circle where a traffic stop was initiated.  The vehicle’s driver refused to stop and made several attempts to elude officers.  The driver, Kyle Snobeck, turned off his headlights and drove through parking lots in the area.

The vehicle was lost for a short period of time when it then drove up behind a patrol vehicle and the pursuit was again initiated.  The vehicle drove at an unknown rate of speed into the Columbia Heights trailer park where it struck a parked car on the 2400 block of Cumberland Road.  The vehicle then continued on and struck two parked cars that were in a driveway.  The collision caused the parked vehicles to hit and partially remove a deck from the residence.  The vehicle then backed out of the spot as the pursuing officer was making an attempt to block the vehicle.  The suspect vehicle struck the patrol vehicle causing damage and then struck the patrol vehicle a second time as it drove away from the scene.  The vehicle drove in between two houses and struck several trees along the berm by Bringewatt Park.  The vehicle came to a stop after it was disabled by the collision with the final tree.

The driver, Kyle Snobeck, was taken into custody and treated on scene by Altru Paramedics.  Kyle also received treatment at the Altru Hospital.  Kyle suffered minor scratches from the traffic crash and no other persons were injured in the incident.

Kyle is being charged with multiple counts of leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment, fleeing in a motor vehicle, DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, refusal of a judicial order, carrying a concealed weapon and many various traffic violations.
