Public transit options available during Try MATBUS Week

Try MATBUS Week takes place during the week of October 21-26 and is a fun and interactive opportunity for residents of the Fargo-Moorhead community to experience all of the benefits of MATBUS. There are several special offers and events during the week to encourage residents to try out MATBUS services and join passengers who take nearly 2 million rides per year in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Try MATBUS Week will be the first opportunity for passengers to pick up the all new MATPASS card. This pass will allow passengers to purchase and store bus passes all in one convenient place (this will not be replacing the current ticket system). MATBUS staff will be on hand the Ground Transportation Center (502 NP Ave.) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday to assist in transferring existing fares and answering questions.

Bus fares will be half price (75 cents for adults, 40 cents for youth, elderly and disabled) Monday through 3 p.m. on Friday and free after 3 p.m. Friday through the end of Saturday. These promotional fares will apply to fixed route buses only and do not include MAT Paratransit.

MATBUS will be celebrating Customer Appreciation Day on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Ground Transportation Center. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., MATBUS staff will be distributing free freshly popped popcorn and bottled water.

Warm-Up Wednesday will be celebrated on Oct. 23 at the Ground Transportation Center. From 7 a.m. and until while supplies last, MATBUS staff will be serving free coffee and hot cocoa.
