Ed Clapp Elementary to host Halloween STEAM activities

The fourth graders at Ed Clapp Elementary School are participating in Halloween-themed Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) activities on Thursday, October 31. The students will be divided into small groups for participation in four engineering and design challenges to showcase their 21st Century skills of communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

The teachers have designed five STEAM challenges using traditional Halloween icons and items. Students will rotate through each of the five stations, with approximately 45 minutes to create their solution to each of the challenges, which include: making spider webs, creating pumpkin catapults, investigating floating peeps, and other creepy crawly activities.

The event will begin at 9:25 a.m. on Thursday morning.
