Assault with a knife reported in Moorhead, man arrested

 

On Saturday at 5:40 p.m., Moorhead Police and Clay County deputies responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of 14th Street South.

Officers arrived and located an adult male who had lacerations to his head and hand. The injuries were not life threatening. He was treated at the scene by paramedics. 39-year-old Moorhead resident, Raymond Williams, was located by officers at the scene and was taken into custody. According to information obtained during this investigation, the two males are acquaintances. An argument between the two escalated until Williams swung a knife at the victim which caused the injuries.    

Williams is being held in the Clay County Jail on second degree assault charges. Everyone involved in this incident has been located. There is no threat to the public.
