Cass County Public Health message to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) remains the same

Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) continues to monitor and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH). The NDDoH has reported an increase in positive COVID-19 testing results for Cass County both yesterday (17 cases) and today (29 cases). Currently, positive COVID-19 cases in Cass County total 181, with 72 attributed to close contact as source of exposure and 68 attributed to community spread.

Due to an increase in targeted testing efforts across the state, additional positive test results are expected. While an increase in positive test results may cause alarm, residents are reminded to continue to exercise basic prevention measures to slow the spread of COVID-19:

  • Practice physical distancing by keeping 6 feet of space between yourself and others.
  • Wear a cloth face mask in settings where physical distancing is difficult (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies).
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use 60% alcohol hand sanitizer.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
  • Cover your cough and sneeze.
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • If possible, work from home.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and needing to seek medical care should contact their healthcare provider before arriving at the clinic or office. This allows the provider necessary time to conduct the COVID-19 screening and provide further instruction, if necessary.

For questions related to COVID-19, the North Dakota Department of Health hotline is available seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be reached at 1.866.207.2880.
